ADC Produce A Popular Candidate For House of Reps In Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency

Elder Effiong Ibok Ayi has officially emerged as the House of Representatives candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, following a peaceful and decisive party primary election held in Calabar.

Delegates and party faithful gathered in large numbers to cast their votes, affirming Elder Ayi as the choice to lead the party’s charge for the federal constituency seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The primary, which was monitored by INEC officials and party stakeholders, was praised by observers as transparent, orderly, and a reflection of internal party democracy.

In his acceptance speech immediately after being declared the winner, a visibly elated Elder Ayi expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership of the ADC, and the entire party structure for their unflinching support. He described his victory as a collective win for constituents in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani who desire progressive and effective representation.

“I want to sincerely thank the leadership of our great party, the ADC, for the trust and confidence they have reposed in me to fly our party’s flag in the 2027 general elections. This mandate is not just an honour, but a sacred responsibility that I do not take lightly,” Elder Ayi stated.

He further reiterated his commitment to unifying the constituency and deploying his wealth of experience to address critical socio-economic challenges facing the people of Calabar Municipality and Odukpani.

“Our people deserve a loud, vibrant, and result-oriented voice at the National Assembly. With this ticket, we are launching a movement that focuses on sustainable empowerment, infrastructure development, and qualitative legislation. I invite everyone, including those who contested with me, to join hands so we can secure victory for the ADC and bring real development to our people,” he added.

Meanwhile, the state party officials have congratulated the newly emerged candidate, describing him as a grassroots leader with the integrity and capacity needed to secure a win at the general polls. They urged party members to remain united and begin immediate mobilization across all wards within the federal constituency.

With the primary concluded, Elder Ayi is expected to hit the ground running, consolidating his campaign machinery ahead of the official kickoff of the 2027 general election campaigns.

Unlike many who seek public office to find employment, Elder Ayi is a seasoned Employer of Labour. His entrepreneurial success serves as a blueprint for the economic revitalization he intends to bring to the Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency if elected as member of the House of Representatives.

As Chief Executive Officer of Effitex Global Resources, Elder Ayi has steered the company to emerged as a leading name in the rubber industry within Cross River State. He currently manages a workforce of over 250 employees, providing livelihoods for hundreds of families and contributing significantly to the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Additionally, the ADC Aspirant has navigated the corridors of power with integrity, gaining the necessary experience to navigate the legislative process effectively.

He was Special Assistant to former Governor Ben Ayade on Youth Mobilization, where he bridged the gap between the government and the youth, advocating for empowerment and inclusion.

He has also served as Special Assistant to former Vice Chairman of Odukpani on Special Duty. In this role, he gained firsthand experience in local government administration and grassroots intervention.

A proud son of Ekori/Anaku Political Ward, his deep connection to Odukpani and Calabar Municipal ensures that his representation will be people-centered and all-inclusive.
