Cross River State Police Dismiss Viral Image About Calabar South As Unverified And Misleading

1. The attention of the Cross River State Police Command has been drawn to an image currently circulating on social media, particularly WhatsApp, bearing the inscription “CALABAR SOUTH GET READY.”

2. The Command wishes to state that the image is unverified and should not be regarded as an official communication or a true representation of any security situation in Calabar South or any part of Cross River State.

3. A review of the image shows visible signs that raise doubts about its authenticity. Notably, it carries a “Meta AI” watermark, indicating that it may have been created using artificial intelligence. While this alone does not conclusively determine its origin, it raises serious concerns regarding the authenticity and reliability of the content.

4. In addition, the image contains no identifiable location, official insignia, or other verifiable details linking it to Calabar South.

5. Members of the public are advised not to share or rely on unverified content capable of causing unnecessary fear, panic, or confusion.The Command urges residents to obtain information only from official and credible sources and to disregard the image in its entirety.The Cross River State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
