Written by Mary Bassey

The father of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has appealed to his late son’s wife to allow him to be buried at home or in the family compound.

The grieving father reportedly expressed his opposition to plans for a church or cemetery burial, insisting that his son should be laid to rest either in the house he built or within the family compound.

His appeal has drawn attention to the family’s burial arrangements, with the singer’s final resting place emerging as a point of disagreement.

Toluwanisings, who was known for his gospel music, has continued to attract public attention following news of his death.

The father’s appeal has sparked conversations about family wishes, burial traditions and the decisions that arise when relatives disagree over the final arrangements for a loved one.

Further details about the family’s response and the confirmed burial plans were not immediately available.

The report is based on recent coverage of the father’s interview. He reportedly prefers the house his son built or burial beside his late mother in Ikirun, Osun State, while his wife is reported to favour a cemetery in Ibadan. The final burial arrangements have not been confirmed.
