Court Jails Three for Blocking FRSC Officials During Kano Road Operation

Written by Mary Bassey

A Magistrate Court sitting in Tudun Wada, Kano State, has convicted three men for obstructing officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) during a routine traffic enforcement operation.

The conviction was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Education Officer of the FRSC Kano Sector Command, Abdullahi Labaran.

According to the statement, the convicted persons — Sani Saidu, Ma’arazu Sani and Suwedi Muhammad — were arrested on July 10, 2026, after they allegedly interfered with FRSC patrol officers carrying out lawful road safety duties.

The FRSC said the trio not only obstructed the enforcement operation but also incited members of the public against the officials in an attempt to disrupt the exercise.

Following their arrest, they were arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Tudun Wada, where the court found them guilty of the offences.

The Corps described the judgment as a strong warning against attacks on law enforcement officers, stressing that anyone who obstructs or assaults FRSC personnel while performing their lawful duties will be prosecuted.

The Kano Sector Command also urged motorists and members of the public to cooperate with road safety officials and comply with traffic regulations to promote safer roads across the state.

The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing traffic laws professionally while ensuring the safety of all road users.
