The Commander of the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut, has urged troops of the Headquarters 27 Task Force Brigade, Sector 2 of Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, to sustain the momentum in the fight against insurgency in the North-East.
Mutkut charged the soldiers to remain aggressive, disciplined, and professional in ongoing operations against Boko Haram terrorists and fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The charge was delivered during an operational assessment visit to the Brigade Headquarters in Buni-Gari, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
According to a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s official X account on Wednesday by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters 27 Task Force Brigade, Lieutenant Tasi’u Abbas, the visit formed part of efforts to evaluate the brigade’s operational performance and boost troop morale.
During the visit, Major General Mutkut received detailed operational briefings from commanders, reviewed the brigade’s activities, and interacted with officers and soldiers. He commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices in the fight against insurgency, urging them not to relent until lasting peace is restored to the region.
The senior officer also reassured the troops of the Nigerian Army’s continued commitment to providing the necessary support and resources to enhance operational effectiveness and improve the welfare of personnel.
The assessment visit underscores the military’s sustained efforts to strengthen ongoing counter-insurgency operations under Operation HADIN KAI, aimed at degrading the operational capabilities of Boko Haram and ISWAP in the North-East.
