Candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State have commenced a statewide thank-you tour, expressing appreciation to party members and supporters while seeking sustained backing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The tour, which began on Saturday, was led by the APC governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Salihu, alongside the party’s state chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, other party leaders and support groups.
The delegation visited Ekiti and Oke-Ero Local Government Areas, where they paid courtesy visits to prominent traditional rulers, including the Olosi of Osi and Chairman of the Ekiti Council of Chiefs, Oba Saliu Adasofegbe, as well as the Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman of the Oke-Ero Council of Chiefs, Oba Samuel Dada. Several other monarchs from both local government areas were also present during the visits.
Addressing party faithful at the Ekiti Town Hall, Salihu thanked APC members and residents for their overwhelming support during the party’s governorship primary election. He described the successful primary as a reflection of the unity within the party and urged supporters to remain committed as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship election.
He also called on members to continue mobilising support at the grassroots, stressing that unity, discipline and collective effort would be crucial to the party’s success in the next general elections.
The thank-you tour is expected to continue across other local government areas in Kwara State as the APC leadership seeks to strengthen its relationship with supporters and traditional institutions ahead of the 2027 polls.
