Nigerian youngsters Zadok Yohanna and Calvin Okike have been named among the Premier League’s most promising emerging talents to watch during the 2026/27 season, highlighting the growing influence of Nigerian players in English football.
The duo earned places on a list of 20 youngsters—one from each Premier League club—predicted to enjoy breakthrough campaigns as teams prepare for the new season. The selection features some of the brightest young prospects expected to make a significant impact in England’s top flight.
Among the standout names is Brighton & Hove Albion winger Zadok Yohanna, who recently completed a reported £21.5 million move from Swedish side AIK Stockholm. The 19-year-old attracted attention after an impressive spell in Sweden, where he scored five goals and provided four assists in 18 league appearances before Brighton secured his signature ahead of several interested clubs.
Known for his pace, creativity and direct attacking style, Yohanna is expected to compete for first-team opportunities as Brighton continue their reputation for developing young talents into Premier League stars.
Calvin Okike also made the prestigious list after catching the eye with his performances and development, with expectations growing that he could enjoy a breakthrough season at his club if given consistent opportunities.
