Cross River State is set to host the 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), alongside the inauguration of Dr. Ogar Emmanuel Idoko as the association’s 46th National President.
The landmark event is expected to be a significant moment for NARD and Cross River State, as Dr. Idoko becomes the latest indigene of the state to assume the prestigious national leadership position.
Ahead of the event, the incoming NARD National President, Dr. Ogar Emmanuel Idoko, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, where the Governor received the delegation and was formally presented with the programme of events.
The delegation included the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Cross River State, Dr. Pius Agweye; Immediate Past Chairman, Dr. Epoke Ezoke; and Prof. Ofem Enang.
Governor Otu Pledges Support
During the visit, Governor Otu affirmed the full support of the Cross River State Government for the programme.
The Governor’s support reflects the state government’s commitment to strengthening the medical profession and supporting initiatives aimed at advancing healthcare delivery in Cross River State and Nigeria.
With preparations gathering momentum, stakeholders across the state are expected to join NARD members, medical professionals and other guests in celebrating the occasion.
The event will highlight leadership, professional service, medical excellence and the future of healthcare delivery in Nigeria, while placing Cross River State in the spotlight as host of one of the country’s major gatherings of resident doctors.
