Written by calabarGist

The administration led by Sen. Francis Ukam, SUG Vice President of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Okuku Campus, has recorded two meaningful student-centred projects aimed at improving students’ welfare, comfort and academic experience.

Driven by a commitment to making a positive impact on campus, the administration successfully implemented a 15-chair SUG Classroom Chair Project at the Okuku Campus.

The classroom chairs were commissioned by the Vice Chancellor of UNICROSS, Prof. Francisca Bassey. The initiative was designed to provide students with improved seating and comfort during lectures, tests and examinations.

Six Concrete Seats Commissioned at Okuku Relaxation Centre

The SUG administration also commissioned six concrete seats at the Okuku Campus Relaxation Centre as part of efforts to provide students with a conducive environment for relaxation, reading, studying and social interaction.

The project was commissioned by the Deputy Dean of Students, Dr. Mike Nandi, alongside the 001 of Blazer’s Republic, Comr. Ogar Favor Jahobe, SUG executives and other stakeholders.

Beyond serving as a relaxation space, the centre provides students with an environment suitable for academic activities and interaction. The installation of solar-powered street lights also enhances safety, visibility and accessibility around the facility.

Speaking on the projects, Sen. Francis Ukam expressed appreciation to the university management and stakeholders who supported the initiatives.

He particularly appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Bassey; the Management of Okuku Campus; SUG executives; stakeholders; and everyone who contributed to turning the projects into reality.

According to him, the initiatives reflect the administration’s commitment to putting students’ welfare and academic experience at the centre of its leadership.
