The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has commenced the sale of admission forms for its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to a release signed by the Director of UNICAL-JUPEB, Prof. Hodo Riman, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the 10-month intensive foundational programme.
UNICAL-JUPEB Programme Offers Direct Entry to 200 Level
The UNICAL-JUPEB programme provides candidates with a pathway to admission into 200 Level, and according to the university’s release, applicants do not require JAMB or POST-UTME for entry through the programme.
Successful candidates can gain admission into programmes across several academic areas, including:
- College of Medical Sciences
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Engineering
- Computing
- Biological Sciences
- Management Sciences
- Social Sciences
- Sciences
- Arts and Humanities
- Education
- Other approved disciplines
UNICAL-JUPEB Admission Requirements
To be eligible to apply, candidates are required to possess a minimum of five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
Accepted qualifications include SSCE, WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or their equivalents, with credits in English Language and Mathematics among the requirements.
Application Fee and How to Apply
The UNICAL-JUPEB application form is available online at the university’s programme application portal.
The application fee is ₦15,500, payable online through ATM card or bank transfer, as well as through any commercial bank nationwide.
