Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition, declaring that he is fully committed to the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
Umahi, who described himself as the “Lion of the South-East,” made the declaration while expressing confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and his administration’s policies.
The former Ebonyi State governor has remained a prominent supporter of the Tinubu administration, particularly in promoting its infrastructure development agenda.
His latest declaration further highlights his political alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Umahi’s remarks come as political discussions and early alignments begin to shape the contest for the next presidential election.
He maintained that he is firmly behind Tinubu’s ambition to secure another four-year term in office.
The declaration was made at an APC Town Hall meeting at the Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, where traditional rulers, religious leaders and party stakeholders also endorsed Tinubu’s re-election bid and Governor Francis Nwifuru’s second term. Vanguard News
Umahi attributed his support to what he described as the Tinubu administration’s infrastructure projects and increased political inclusion of the South-East.
