The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has commenced its 2026/2027 academic session, with returning students scheduled to resume on Monday, October 12, 2026.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Aribisala, announced the resumption dates during the institution’s maiden press conference, according to a statement released on Saturday.
While returning students are expected back on campus today, newly admitted students are scheduled to resume on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Aribisala said the university was committed to maintaining a stable academic calendar to ensure that students complete their programmes without unnecessary interruptions or delays.
He explained that the management would continue to coordinate lectures, examinations, results processing and other academic activities to support students’ academic progress.
The Vice-Chancellor also said the institution would build on the achievements of its maiden academic session by strengthening teaching and learning while creating a conducive environment for research.
FUTES-IYIN commenced academic activities on January 5, 2026, and completed its first academic session in August.
The resumption marks the beginning of the university’s second academic session as it continues efforts to establish a stable academic structure and improve the quality of education offered to students.
Returning students are expected to complete their registration within the stipulated period, while fresh students are to prepare for their resumption in November.
According to the university’s proposed academic calendar, lectures for returning students are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 19, 2026.
