A football coach named Bankole Oginni was detained by police in Akure, Ondo State, for reportedly k#lling his 45-year-old ex-girlfriend.
Oginni, 45, allegedly committed the horrible murder at his home in Akure\’s Oke-Aro axis. According to reports, he called the victim and invited her to come over to his place.
When the deceased was found at his home after she failed to come home on Saturday, when she paid him a visit, it was claimed that he was caught in the act.
Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident: \”A lady reported at the station that her mother\’s ex-lover Bankole Oginni called and invited her (the deceased) over to his place in the Oke Aro neighborhood of Akure and after she left for his house, she did not return and her phone was switched off.
She traced her mother to the house, only to find her lifel£§s body in the room of the ex-lover, her legs and hands ti£d and her body op£ned with intestines r£moved.
Also, there were patches on her (the deceased) body that shows signs of hot water burns.
Suspect who claimed to be a footballer is already in our custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.”
