Apple Music Price Jumps Again in Nigeria — Here’s the New Monthly Fee

Written by Mary Bassey

Apple has increased the monthly cost of its Apple Music Individual plan for subscribers in Nigeria. The new price stands at ₦1,700, up from the previous rate of ₦1,300.

The adjustment marks another upward revision in local pricing for the popular music streaming service. Nigerian users with Apple IDs set to the Nigeria region will see the higher fee applied on their next billing cycle or upon new subscription.

Apple Music remains one of the leading platforms for accessing a vast catalogue of local and international tracks, including curated playlists, offline downloads, spatial audio, and exclusive content. The service competes closely with other major streaming options available in the country.

This latest change comes amid ongoing economic pressures, including currency fluctuations that have previously influenced the pricing of digital services billed in naira. Earlier adjustments had already moved the Individual plan from lower rates to ₦1,300.

Existing subscribers are typically notified by Apple ahead of the change taking effect on their accounts. Users who prefer not to continue at the new rate can cancel their subscription through their Apple ID settings or via supported payment channels such as MTN airtime options before the renewal date.

Family and Student plans were not detailed in the initial reports of this specific Individual plan update. Apple has not issued an official public statement explaining the exact reasons for the latest Nigerian price revision at the time of reporting.

The increase is expected to affect a growing base of Nigerian listeners who rely on Apple Music for both entertainment and discovery of Afrobeats and global hits. Subscribers are advised to check their account settings or the App Store for the most current pricing and terms applicable to their plan
