CP Ajo Geoffrey Presents ₦13.75m Group Life Assurance Cheques to Families of 17 Fallen Police Personnel
The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, psc, mnips, mspsp, has presented 17 Group Life Assurance cheques valued at ₦13,753,885.36 to beneficiaries of deceased personnel of the Cross River State Police Command.
The presentation was held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Command Headquarters in Calabar.
Payment Approved by Inspector-General of Police
The cheques were presented on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, following his approval of the payments to families of the deceased police personnel.
Speaking at the event, CP Ajo expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for approving the payments, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, even after the loss of a loved one.
CP Ajo Honours Sacrifice of Fallen Officers
The Commissioner acknowledged the sacrifices made by the deceased personnel in the course of their service to the nation.
He noted that while no financial assistance could compensate for the loss of a life, the Group Life Assurance payments would provide meaningful support to the bereaved families and reassure serving officers and men that their sacrifices and welfare remain priorities within the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Ajo urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the funds and assured them of the Command’s continued support.
Commissioner Commends Bereaved Families
The Cross River Police Commissioner also commended the families of the deceased personnel for their resilience and sacrifices, assuring them that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to recognise and honour the contributions of their loved ones to national security.
He further called on officers and men of the Command to remain steadfast in their duties, uphold professionalism and continue to serve with courage, discipline and integrity.
CP Ajo reiterated that personnel welfare remains an essential component of effective policing and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting its personnel and their families.
