The Central Progressives Movement (CPM) has vowed to ensure that the Central Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams wins the Senatorial election in 2023.
The Director General of the group, Apst. Ewona Ambrose Ojen
made this known yesterday at the Conference Room of the Speaker at the Cross River State House of Assembly.
He noted that the movement would deploy resources and everything possible to ensure that Williams wins the election, “as he remains the candidate with the best chance of winning.”
Ojen said Williams has the leadership qualities needed to transform Central, looking at how he managed the leadership of the House of Assembly, adding that during the primary, he was the only experience person and if, given the opportunity, the APC candidate will do his very best to put central at the most top in the federal.
DG explained further that while others may not have seen what they have because their group is born by God’s words, so the group has decided to put its eggs in one basket by completely throwing its weight behind Williams.
He concluded that Williams is “Our Project” and his “Election is our Victory”.
Also speaking Is Queen Gladys Igut the Woman leader of the group who noted that the Central Senatorial Candidate is a friend to the Youth and a supporter of the Central Support Festival that is always uncovering talent.
Women leaders thanked the Speaker and described him as a Man that has the growth of the Youth at heart while urging everyone to trust Williams with their support.
On his part Elder Jubi Ebri Asuquo, the Treasurer of the group noted that he can bet anything for this project because he had seen a consistent man and he’s a brother next door.
Others took turns to thank Mr. Speaker and assured him of victory at their various Wards, polling units, local governments, and Central in general.
In his response, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly and the Central Senatorial District Candidate of the Apc welcomed the group and thanked them for supporting the project, without knowing him or meeting with them, that alone is a sacrifice and I appreciate it.
Williams added that he had taken notes of all their contributions and speeches and added that the leadership of Central will be different and everything that comes out from the Senate will be shared across all villages in the Central.
The Candidate concluded that the campaign activities will be out and everyone will be involved while urging everyone to visit his/her polling unit, and that election is local.
The high point of the event was the decorations of the Speaker as the patron of the Central Progressives Movement.
