The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described its performance in the recently concluded local government election as a strong indication of the party’s growing popularity and readiness for the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Monday at the APC state secretariat in Benin City, the party’s chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, said the outcome of the council poll reflected the confidence Edo residents had in the party’s leadership and vision.
Tenebe disclosed that the APC recorded 2,158,600 votes in the local government election, describing the result as a major political milestone for the party in the state.
He expressed confidence that the APC would build on the momentum ahead of the next general election, pledging that the party would mobilise support to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, the victory was a reflection of the commitment of party members, supporters and leaders across the state, adding that the APC would continue to strengthen its grassroots structures and consolidate its support base.
Tenebe also commended party faithful for their dedication during the election and urged them to remain united as preparations gradually begin for future electoral contests.
The APC chairman maintained that the party remains focused on expanding its political influence in Edo State while supporting President Tinubu’s administration and its development agenda.
