Bendeghe Ekiem-born Captain Edom Tawo has officially declared his intention to contest for the Obubra/Etung Federal House of Representatives seat, delivering a strong message that the era of poor representation must come to an end.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress National Secretariat, Tawo stated that the people of Obubra/Etung have been underserved for too long and now deserve leadership focused on results rather than excuses.
According to him, extensive consultations across the constituency revealed overwhelming support for his candidacy, with many constituents pointing to his private sector experience and commitment to human capital development as key strengths.
“My people are tired of empty promises and ineffective leadership. They have asked me to step forward, and I will not disappoint them,” he said.
Tawo further aligned his ambition with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the People First agenda of Bassey Edet Otu, promising to deliver tangible and measurable dividends of democracy without delay.
He emphasized that his focus will be on competence, capacity, and impactful representation, insisting that Obubra/Etung deserves better leadership.
