The Wikimedia User Group Nigeria (WUGN) wishes to clarify that it is not involved in, nor aware of, the ongoing Guinness World Record attempt for the Longest Editathon in Calabar, Nigeria.
Additionally, none of our members are connected to this activity, which has reportedly caused disruptions on Wikimedia projects.
Recent discussions within the English Wikipedia community have raised concerns about editing disruptions linked to this record attempt. Although WUGN has no direct knowledge of the details or organizers of this event, we are closely monitoring the situation to better understand its implications for Wikimedia projects.
As a recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation, WUGN remains committed to promoting ethical contributions, collaboration, and transparency across all Wikimedia platforms.
