Thursday, September 26, 2024, The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, JP, accompanied with his wife, Ezinne Deaconess Maria Onyaidu Oliver Ali Aba, paid a Courtesy Visit to the 78th Monarch of the Efik People, His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the Obong of Calabar at his palace in Southern Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Oliver Ali Aba, JP, decided to visit the Obong of Calabar as a sign of respect to the traditional symbol.
The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, in his speech stated that “Your Royal Majesty, you’ve demonstrated a high level of Godly leadership in the traditional rulers Council in Efik Kingdom.
You’ve provided a sense of belongingness, rights, loyalty, obedience, and mutual solidarity”.
The Prelate, Dr. Aba, who deeply expressed happiness in the well adorned Palace of the King, beatified with traditional Efik Kingdom Flavours, Modern Ornaments, expressed sincere joy with the warm reception at the Palace.
The Prelate, furthered blessed the Obong of Calabar, and his good teams in the Palace, that were led by Etinyin Sir. Ekpenyong E. Ekpenyong, KJW.
In Response, The Obong of Calabar, His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, appreciated the Prelate, Dr Oliver Ali Aba, JP, Archbishop of Calabar Archdiocese, His Grace, The Most Rev. Amb. Chimezuo Onyewuchi Samuel Nna Nwankpa, JP, Bishop, Diocese of Atamunu, Rt Rev. Barr. Otuekong Alexander Ukut, PhD, and other guests at the Palace, the Obong of Calabar appealed to the Prelate to create more Dioceses in the Archdiocese of Calabar, so as to give room for more rugged Evangelism and soul winning, adding that Methodist Church Nigeria been the Nigeria Premier Church has really Pioneered the work of social actions and Evangelism.
Obong of Calabar added that his Palace is an extension of God’s Tabernacle to serve the great and noble people of Efik Kingdom.
The Prelate Courtesy Visit to the Obong of Calabar Palace was the continuation of his Apostolic Tour of Blessings to the Diocese of Atamunu.
