NCDC Confirms Isolated COVID-19 Case in Cross River, Assures Public of Containment Measures
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed a single case of COVID-19 in Cross River State, addressing recent media reports and reassuring the public that the situation is under control.
According to the agency, the confirmed case has been isolated and is currently receiving care in line with national treatment guidelines. Health officials report that the patient is in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
Following the confirmation, the Cross River State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the NCDC and supporting partners, swiftly activated response measures to prevent further spread. These measures include intensified contact tracing, enhanced surveillance, and strict infection prevention and control protocols.
Authorities disclosed that all identified contacts of the infected individual are being closely monitored. At this time, there is no indication of widespread transmission within the state.
