Written by Mary Bassey

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old man suspected of belonging to the Eiye Confraternity, recovering locally made firearms, ammunition and a battle axe during an intelligence-led operation.

The suspect was reportedly arrested as part of police efforts to tackle cult-related activities and improve security in the state.

Items recovered during the operation include two locally made pistols, three live cartridges and a battle axe, which the police may examine as part of their investigation.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by security operatives to identify and apprehend individuals suspected of involvement in cultism and other violent activities.

The suspect is expected to face further investigation to establish his alleged involvement in the confraternity and determine whether the recovered items are connected to any criminal activity.

However, the suspect remains an alleged offender unless proven guilty by a court of law.

Further details, including the exact location of the arrest, the suspect’s identity and any formal charges, were not provided in the initial report.
