UNICAL Makes New Appointment in Student Support Directorate

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Offiong Efanga Offiong, has approved the appointment of Dr. Ernest Amama as Deputy Director of the Career and Student Support Service Centre (CSSSC).

The appointment, contained in an official letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, is for a two-year tenure, commencing on August 10, 2026, and ending on August 9, 2028.

Under the new role, Dr. Amama will work closely with the Director of the Centre and support the implementation of programmes and activities aimed at achieving the objectives of the Directorate.

According to the appointment letter, the new Deputy Director is expected to contribute to the effective administration of the Centre and work towards delivering optimal results in line with the university’s goals.

Dr. Amama is also expected to align with the vision and mission of the current administration while ensuring that the values, policies and expectations of the University of Calabar are upheld.

The appointment adds to the university’s efforts to strengthen its career and student support structures and improve services available to students.

Dr. Amama’s tenure will run from August 10, 2026, to August 9, 2028.
