The political atmosphere in Bakassi Local Government Area came alive as TeamGiver converged at the APC Chapter Secretariat, signaling strong and growing support for Comrade Victor John Okon, popularly known as Mr Giver.
Mr Giver, accompanied by his team, paid a strategic consultation visit to the Chapter and Ward Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bakassi, formally declaring his intention to contest for the Bakassi State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his opening remarks, the APC Chapter Chairman, Hon. Archibong Esemin, warmly received the delegation and emphasized party discipline, noting that the APC remains supreme. He urged the aspirant and his supporters to align their actions with party principles.
Speaking on behalf of the campaign team, the Director-General of TeamGiver, Hon. Edem Ekeng, described Mr Giver as a tested grassroots leader with a track record of positively impacting lives. He highlighted plans to support the APC Secretariat with basic amenities and drive inclusive development across both the Mainland and Riverine blocs of Bakassi.
During the engagement, stakeholders present—including ward and chapter executives—called for purposeful and effective representation that would foster unity and progress across the local government.
Responding, Victor John Okon (Mr Giver) reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and development in Bakassi. He outlined key focus areas of his proposed leadership to include education, hospitality, infrastructure, community development, and youth empowerment, while assuring that more initiatives would follow if elected.
In his closing remarks, the Chapter Vice Chairman, Comrade Asuquo Nyong Etim Efa (Ediyevono), stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Mainland and Riverine communities, particularly in empowerment and integration efforts.
