On Monday, Nov 11, 2024, the famous Eburutu Barracks in Calabar erupted in excitement as the Honourable Member, representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, distributed farm inputs to Wives of Military Personnel from Ebrutu Barracks
The House of Representatives Member, who was accorded a rousing reception, told the enthusiastic farmers that the initiative aims to support their livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity, and enhance food sufficiency.

“By providing our farmers with vital farm inputs, we are investing in our future. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and it is crucial that we support our farmers in every way possible, which is in tandem with our vision to improve lives and livelihoods,”.
The farmers, mostly wives of military personnel, came out in their numbers to receive the farm inputs including NPK fertilizers, Urea, and Maize Seeds. They expressed profound gratitude for Rep. Bassey Akiba’s kind gesture.
Leveraging this generous distribution, the farmers are poised to increase their productivity, ensuring a bountiful harvest that will not only feed their families but also contribute to the local economy.
