The Cross River State Diaspora Forum has unanimously endorsed Mr. Edem Francis Bassey as its preferred candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, following a high-level meeting held on Wednesday, April 30, 2026, in London.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the Forum said the endorsement was the outcome of thorough deliberation and reflects clear confidence in his proven dedication to public service, his alignment with the collective aspirations of the people, and his capacity to effectively represent and advance the interests of his constituency.”
Backing its decision with action, the Forum disclosed that members have already mobilized financial contributions for the purchase of Mr. Bassey’s Expression of Interest form, thereby facilitating his formal participation in the electoral
process.
“The Cross River Diaspora Forum reaffirms its commitment to active and constructive participation in democratic governance. We are resolute in supporting credible leadership anchored on development, unity, and the welfare of the people,” the statement read.
The meeting ended with a strong, unified resolve by members to remain engaged in shaping the future of Cross River State through collective action and responsible civic participation.
