Adeboye Urges Scholars to Find Lasting Solutions to Nigeria’s Insecurity

Written by Mary Bassey

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on scholars, church leaders and policymakers to go beyond academic debates and work together to develop practical solutions to Nigeria’s growing insecurity.

Adeboye made the appeal on Thursday through his Special Adviser on Administration, Prof. Dele Balogun, during his goodwill message at the 2026 International Conference on African Pentecostalism held at the Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

He stressed that the persistent security challenges facing the country require practical, research-driven and faith-based interventions rather than theoretical discussions alone.

According to him, conferences and academic engagements should produce ideas and policy recommendations that can help address pressing national issues, particularly insecurity, which continues to threaten lives, livelihoods and national development.

Adeboye also encouraged scholars and religious leaders to strengthen collaboration with government institutions and other stakeholders in promoting peace, justice and sustainable development across the country.

The annual conference brought together academics, clergy, researchers and policymakers to discuss the role of African Pentecostalism in shaping society and responding to contemporary challenges affecting the continent.
