The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled part of his vision for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election, proposing the use of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology to transform governance, tackle corruption, and improve transparency in public administration.
In separate posts shared on his verified X account on Friday, the activist and former presidential candidate said his administration would embrace emerging technologies to modernise the country’s financial management and strengthen national security if elected president.
According to Sowore, artificial intelligence would play a central role in managing Nigeria’s public finances by improving budget monitoring, reducing waste, detecting financial irregularities, and limiting opportunities for corruption. He also proposed the adoption of blockchain technology to create transparent and tamper-resistant public financial records.
On national security, Sowore said his government would deploy advanced drone technology to enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering, border security, and defence operations, describing innovation as a critical tool for addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
He stated that embracing digital technology would make government more efficient, accountable, and responsive to the needs of citizens while reducing excessive human interference in critical public institutions.
The proposals form part of Sowore’s emerging policy agenda as political parties and aspirants begin unveiling their plans ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
