US DEA Declares Nigerian Man Wanted Over Alleged Drug Conspiracy

Written by Mary Bassey

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has declared a 57-year-old Nigerian man, Tayo Muyiwa Olukoya, wanted over alleged drug-related offences.

Olukoya, also known as “Uncle,” was listed on the agency’s official fugitives website, with the DEA’s Chicago Division announcing the development through its official X account.

According to the agency, he is wanted for allegedly conspiring to possess controlled substances with the intention of distributing them and conspiring to distribute the substances.

The case is listed under the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, according to information published by the DEA.

The agency’s public notice describes Olukoya as a Black male, approximately 177 centimetres tall and weighing about 99 kilogrammes, with brown eyes.

The DEA has appealed to members of the public who may have credible information about his whereabouts to contact the appropriate US law enforcement authorities.

However, the wanted notice relates to allegations against Olukoya and does not, on its own, establish his guilt.

The development has drawn attention to the growing number of Nigerians named in wanted notices issued by US authorities over alleged offences.
