The Honourable Member, representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Bassey Akiba, has lauded the Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Senator(Prince) Bassey Otu, for the renovation and upgrade of the state library.

In a release, Rep. Bassey Akiba said in today’s digital age, libraries have an increasingly important role as centres of learning, collaboration, and research.

He noted that the facility will serve as a treasure trove of knowledge, provide a calm and comfortable space for students and scholars alike to explore while offering countless opportunities for personal and intellectual growth, and development.

“I am profoundly delighted with the efforts of the Cross River State Government in revamping and digitalizing the state library. Having a modern and functional library is a bold step towards reviving the reading culture that has been waning in recent years”.

While pledging continued collaboration, the federal lawmaker hailed the Governor for his developmental projects, programmes, and policies which are in tandem with the “People First” Mantra.
