It was a moment of palpable excitement as the famous BASSEY OTU/BASSEY AKIBA (BB BABES), converged at the residence of the Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, to celebrate two significant events — the triumphant return of His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu, to the state after his annual leave, and the birthday of the wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Bishop Dr(Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.
In a telephone conversation, Rep. Bassey Akiba expressed gratitude for the Governor’s safe return and extended warm birthday wishes to the Governor’s Wife, describing her as a mother of the state and a pillar of compassion, elegance, and strength.
“We are truly grateful to God for the safe return of our dear Governor. His leadership continues to steer Cross River State on the path of progress and prosperity. Today, we also honour Her Excellency, Bishop Dr(Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, whose birthday reminds us of her invaluable contributions to our state,” Akiba remarked.
Amidst hundreds of enthusiastic women, the Director General of BB BABES and Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter- Party Affairs, Hon. Nkoyo Otu, flanked by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Dr(Mrs) Afiong Ugbaja, poured encomiums on the First Lady of Cross River State. They celebrated her strength, humility, and motherly care, praying for continued grace and wisdom upon her life.
The BB BABES, adorned in colourful attires, sang, danced, and prayed, turning the evening into a vibrant expression of unity and support for the administration. Speeches, goodwill messages, and songs highlighted the event, reinforcing the strong bond between the people and their leaders.
