The attention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Cross River State Chapter, has been drawn to false and misleading information allegedly being circulated by a group parading itself as the “Turaki faction” of the party concerning the PDP’s candidates for the 2027 General Election.
For the avoidance of doubt, the names of the duly nominated PDP candidates have been uploaded to the INEC portal in accordance with the Electoral Act and other applicable regulations. The portal is open to the public for verification.
Accordingly, any person claiming to be a PDP candidate whose name does not appear on the official INEC portal should be treated as an impostor. The party will report any such individual to the appropriate security agencies for investigation and any further action permitted by law.
Furthermore, any individual falsely presenting himself or herself as a PDP candidate or representative, without the authorization of the party, does not represent the People’s Democratic Party in any capacity.
The official Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party, Cross River State Chapter, is located at No. 27 Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar. Members of the public are advised that all official information concerning the party can be obtained from the Secretariat on working days between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The PDP is a responsible and law-abiding political party. We therefore urge members of the public to disregard any unauthorized statements, announcements, or claims made by persons falsely presenting themselves as representatives or candidates of the party.
