Chelsea Agree £52m Deal to Sign Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace
Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £52 million, with the French defender set to become the latest addition to the Blues’ squad.
The proposal has been accepted by Crystal Palace after both clubs agreed on a package exceeding £50 million. The transfer will be completed as a straight cash deal, with no players included in the agreement.
Chelsea had explored different options during negotiations, but defender Axel Disasi was not interested in moving to Crystal Palace, leading both clubs to finalize a cash-only deal.
Lacroix is expected to strengthen Chelsea’s defensive line as the club continues its busy summer transfer window. The centre-back has impressed with his pace, aerial ability, and composure on the ball, making him one of the Premier League’s most sought-after defenders.
The move marks another significant signing for Chelsea under head coach Xabi Alonso, who is reshaping the squad ahead of the new season. Lacroix arrives shortly after the club secured the signing of attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, highlighting Chelsea’s ambition to strengthen both ends of the pitch.
