The building was in a dilapidated shape when Prof. Florence Banku Obi took over the leadership of UNICAL and during a facility tour, she assured students using both laboratories in the building that she was going to carry out a comprehensive renovation and equipping of the laboratories in line with her agenda of infrastructural development.
Few months later, the building is now set for use when students return from ASUU strike.
The new building now has functional Air Conditioner system in all the halls and lecturers offices, a good running water system and electrification.
According to Prof. Florence Obi, the comfort of students in the university remain her top-most priority.
Aside this, there are over 8 major projects ongoing in the institution that have reached over 90 per cent completion. Mostly are students’ lecture halls, practical workshops, hostel accommodation among others.
The erudite Professor of Special Needs Education is matching her words with action.
No doubt, Prof. Florence Obi is driving an aggressive infrastructural development in UNICAL.
