Manchester City Complete Deal for Gerónimo Rulli as Backup Goalkeeper
Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign experienced Argentine goalkeeper Gerónimo “Gero” Rulli from French club Olympique de Marseille, with the transfer now entering its final stages.
The deal, which had been exclusively reported last week, is now confirmed as Rulli has been authorized to travel for his medical examinations with the Premier League champions. Once the medical is completed, the 34-year-old is expected to sign a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2028, with an option to extend the agreement by an additional year until June 2029.
Rulli arrives to strengthen City’s goalkeeping department, where he is expected to serve as a reliable backup option. The Argentine international brings a wealth of experience from spells in Spain and France, having represented clubs including Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Montpellier, and Marseille.
