This development follows a remarkable initiative by Scholars in Diaspora, who raised ₦22.1 million with ₦20 million allocated for the nomination form and the balance committed to supporting vulnerable students through educational interventions.

At the official presentation in his office, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong expressed profound appreciation for the gesture. In a defining moment of leadership and reciprocity, he announced a ₦25 million seed donation to establish a Diaspora Educational Trust Fund.

He emphasized that before accepting their sacrifice, it was only right to give back encouraging the delegation to institutionalize their efforts into a structured platform that would expand educational support and reach more students in need.

This dual moment of endorsement and impact highlights not just political support, but a shared commitment to sustainable educational development.
