The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has taken decisive steps to reposition the University of Cross River State (UniCross) for improved academic and administrative excellence by appointing UNICROSS NEW VC and to Dissolves the existing Governing Council
In a bold move aimed at fostering stability and innovation, the Governor has approved the immediate dissolution of the existing Governing Council of UniCross. This action underscores the Governor’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for learning and development within the institution.
Appointment of UNICROSS NEW VC and Governing Council
To usher in this new era, Governor Otu has announced the appointment of Professor Francisca Bassey as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of UniCross. With her wealth of experience in academia and administration, Prof. Bassey is expected to drive transformative policies that will elevate the university’s status.
In addition, Dr. Fidelis Ugbo has been named the new Pro-Chancellor of the University, tasked with providing strategic oversight and support to the institution’s leadership. The Governor has also appointed Hon. Francis Ettah and Prof. Susan Etim as members of the new Governing Council. The complete composition of the Council will be announced shortly.
