The so-called “open letter” currently in circulation, masked as a patriotic concern, is nothing more than a thinly veiled political attack driven by fear, insecurity, and desperation. It is important to state clearly that this is not about integrity, legality, or the future of the party, it is about a few threatened aspirants who are deeply unsettled by the growing popularity, acceptance, and political strength of Hon. Bridget Alina among the people of Obanliku.
Hon. Bridget Alina’s rising profile is not accidental. It is the result of consistent grassroots engagement, visible compassion, and a genuine connection with the people. While others rely on elite bargaining and backdoor influence, she has built her support base the hard way, among the ordinary people. That is what truly frightens her opponents. They understand that in a free and fair contest, their chances are significantly diminished.
The attempt to weaponize an ongoing inquiry against her is both premature and misleading. In any democratic system governed by the rule of law, the principle of presumption of innocence is not optional, it is fundamental. No panel has indicted Hon. Bridget Alina or other members of the Commission, and any attempt to portray her as guilty before the conclusion of due process is not only unjust but politically manipulative. It raises a serious question: why the rush to discredit her if not for fear of her political strength?
Furthermore, the argument being pushed by these detractors is dangerously hypocritical. If mere association or unproven allegations become the standard for disqualification, then very few actors in the political space would stand. Selective outrage only exposes the real motive, elimination of a strong contender under the guise of moral concern.
It must also be said that the people of Obanliku are not naive. They can clearly distinguish between genuine concern and orchestrated propaganda. This campaign of calumny against Hon. Bridget Alina will not erase her growing goodwill; if anything, it reinforces the perception that she is the candidate others are afraid to face at the polls.
At a time when the party should be consolidating strength and building unity, it is unfortunate that some individuals have chosen the path of division and character assassination. True party loyalty is not demonstrated by pulling down strong members, but by fostering fair competition and respecting the will of the people.
In light of this, Hon. Bridget Alina is strongly advised not to dignify this baseless letter with a response. It is clearly born out of fear, particularly the fear of a rising woman standing strong and commanding support in a space traditionally dominated by men. Responding would only lend credibility to what is, at its core, a desperate attempt to distract and diminish her growing influence.
Hon. Bridget Alina remains focused, undeterred, and committed to serving the people. No amount of politically motivated attacks will overshadow her credibility, nor will it diminish the trust that the people of Obanliku have placed in her.
In the end, this is not just about one individual, it is about whether the party will stand for fairness, due process, and internal democracy, or succumb to fear-driven manipulation by a few.
The people are watching. And ultimately, the people will decide.
