Armed bandits have reportedly killed the Village Head of Kulodo community in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Abubakar Tudu, his eldest son, Abubakar Abubakar, and four other residents during a fresh attack on the community.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed Kulodo village, opening fire on residents and causing panic as people fled for safety. The attack claimed the lives of the traditional ruler, his son, and four other community members.
The attackers also extended the assault to the neighbouring Kwance village, where another resident was reportedly killed, bringing the total number of fatalities to at least seven.
The latest incident has heightened fears among residents, who continue to grapple with recurring attacks by armed bandits across parts of Sokoto State. Community members have called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property and prevent further violence in the area.
Authorities are yet to issue a detailed official statement on the attack or confirm whether any arrests have been made. Security operatives are expected to launch investigations into the incident as efforts continue to track down those responsible.
The attack adds to the growing wave of insecurity affecting communities in Nigeria’s North-West, where banditry, kidnappings, and violent raids have continued despite ongoing military and security operations.
