The United States Mission in Nigeria has praised Nigerian-American physician and entrepreneur, Dr. Ikenna Okezie, for his groundbreaking efforts to improve kidney care and expand access to quality healthcare across the United States.
In a post shared on its official X account on Friday, the mission highlighted Okezie’s achievements as the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Somatus, a healthcare company focused on transforming the treatment of chronic kidney disease through innovative, patient-centred care.
According to the mission, Somatus provides in-home dialysis support and comprehensive kidney care services, helping patients manage chronic kidney disease more effectively while reducing the need for frequent hospital visits.
The US Mission noted that Okezie’s leadership and commitment to innovation are helping reshape kidney care delivery and improving the quality of life for thousands of patients across the country.

Dr. Okezie, a Nigerian-born physician, has been recognised for using technology and value-based healthcare models to make specialised kidney care more accessible, reinforcing the impact of Nigerians making significant contributions to global healthcare.
