Unical VC Visits Students Involved in Auto Crash, Offers Financial Assistance

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has visited four(4) students who were involved in an auto crash yesterday in the University.

The incident happened around the institution\’s senate chambers when the students were already on their way home.

The Vice-Chancellor who visited the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, offered financial assistance for their medication.

However, three(3) victims of the unfortunate incident as at the time of filling this report have been discharged from the hospital while one is still undergoing medical attention.

While wishing the victims quick recovery, the VC has urged staff, students and visitors of the University to be careful while driving on campus and adhere strictly to speed limits regardless of the good road networks in the University.

Prof. Obi also stressed that the University under her administration will always place premium on the health and safety of students on campus and beyond.

In company with the VC was the University\’s Bursar, Mr. Joseph Odum, the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Tony Enyang, Mr. Dominic Okpene, the Students\’ Union Government, SUG President, Comr. Tyron Bassey and his Executive, and others.
