Ada Bekwarra ll celebrates first Coronation Anniversary

The Cross River State Commissioner for Youths Development and Skills Acquisition, Hon. (Signor) Omang Idiege, Fcai, Fiia, JP, on Sunday celebrated his first anniversary coronation as \”Ada Bekwarra ll\”.

The title bestowed on him in 2021 recognizes him as grand leader of all leaders, father and rallying point of the Bekwarra people, following the demise of the late Ada Bekwarra 1, Chief Linus.

In an epoch thanksgiving ceremony at the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish Gakem, Ada Bekwarra ll thanked the Bekwarra traditional institution, sons and daughters of Bekwarra Local Government Area for finding him worthy to lead them.

Signor Idiege extolled Governor Ben Ayade for all the support to the good people of Bekwarra, maintaining that the thanksgiving exercise has been an annual event since 2007 as God has kept him in divine health, he would continue showing appreciation throughout his lifetime.

He specifically thanked the Bekwarra traditional institution and all those who travelled from far and within to grace the occasion.

Speaking also, Governor Ben Ayade represented by the state deputy governor, Prof. Ivara Esu said the thanksgiving ceremony is as important to the State as it is to the people of Bekwarra as it symbolizes a unique tradition and existence of a people.

Governor Ayade commended Signor Idiege and indeed the people of Bekwarra for standing by one of their illustrious sons who\’s also a member of the Cross River State Executive Council to continue in the great works of his predecessor.

Among notable speakers and attendees are the Chairman Bekwarra Traditional Rulers Council and Paramount Ruler of Bekwarra Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Chief Linus Ogbeche Odey (Ushie Ebeshe Ka\’kpa ll), Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo, the Chief of Staff to the Governor Hon. Martins Orim, Prof. Anthony Eneji, Ntufam Dr. Peter Orji, Chief Tony Udiandeye, Rt. Hon. Idagu Agaji, some Members of the State House of Assembly and State Executive Council members, prominent sons and daughters of Bekwarra and beyond.
