# Lamine Yamal Added to Barcelona Captaincy Group After Players’ Vote

Lamine Yamal has officially been added to Barcelona’s captaincy group following a vote among the players, marking another major milestone in the 19-year-old’s remarkable rise at the club.

The decision was made internally by the squad, with Yamal receiving enough support to become part of Barcelona’s five-man leadership group. He joins Raphinha, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Eric García as one of the players entrusted with captaincy responsibilities.

Yamal’s inclusion underlines the enormous influence he has already established inside the Barcelona dressing room despite his age. Having come through the club’s academy, the winger has quickly developed into one of the most important players in the first-team squad and a central figure in Barcelona’s future plans.

At just 19, Yamal’s appointment also puts him among the youngest players ever to become part of Barcelona’s senior captaincy group. His progression from academy prospect to first-team star and now a member of the leadership structure has been remarkably rapid.

The players’ decision is also viewed as a strong indication of the respect Yamal commands within the squad. His performances on the pitch, personality and growing responsibility have helped establish him as a natural leader despite being one of the younger members of the team.

With Raphinha and Pedri also remaining in the group alongside experienced figures such as De Jong and Eric García, Barcelona will have a blend of youth, experience and leadership within its captaincy structure.

For Yamal, the latest recognition represents another significant step in his development and further strengthens his status as one of the faces of Barcelona’s next generation.
