Bassey Akiba Support oil Palm Cooperative With A Seed Fund of 3.5M

 

There was wild jubilation as Rep. Bassey Akiba supported Oil Palm Cooperative in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency with a seed fund of 3.5 Million Naira.

The support came on the heels of the just concluded 5 – Day Training for the Establishment of Farm Clusters for Oil Palm Farmers Cooperative in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency.

In a telephone conversation with the trainees, Rep. Bassey Akiba appreciated their good conduct throughout the training, urging them to make good use of the training given to them.

\”We are pooling resources and skills, creating economic structures and opportunities to enable constituents productively and gainfully engaged in Agric-Based Cooperative for a better future\”.

He emphasized that the training is tailored to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish and manage successful farm clusters, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance their livelihoods even as he mulled a pilot farm.

\”We acknowledge the collaborative synergy with development institutions/MDAs. The Cooperative initiative is part of efforts to create a viable economic structure that will empower the people, alleviate and elevate their lives and livelihoods. This year, we are raising a capital base of 125M for the Cooperatives. We will continue to create economic opportunities and support our people\”.

Flanked by the organizers of the training, the Director General, Bassey Akiba Foundation, Mrs Precious Esse, presented a seed fund of 3.5 Million Naira to Oil Palm Farmers Cooperative.

While pledging their continued support, the visibly elated trainees showered praises on Rep. Bassey Akiba for impacting their lives and livelihoods.

In collaboration with development partners, the Federal Lawmaker has facilitated training for the establishment of Farm Clusters for Oil Palm, Fisheries, Cassava, and Poultry Farmers Cooperative in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency.
