Rep.Bassey Akiba, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Health Services, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria. The recognition took place during the opening ceremony of the Institute\’s 39th National Workshop at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, July 12, 2024.

The National President of the Institute expressed great honor in presenting this award to Rep. Akiba, acknowledging his significant and objective contributions to healthcare services. Rep. Akiba\’s unwavering commitment to healthcare advancement has been a driving force in his legislative work.

In addition to this recognition, Rep.Akiba is actively sponsoring \”A Bill for an Act to Establish the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria,\” which is currently in progress. This bill aims to formalize and enhance healthcare administration in the country.
