A man identified as Tony in Abia State has been apprehended over allegations of sexually abusing his 13-year-old biological daughter.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl, but claimed that it had happened only twice.
When asked when the alleged abuse began, Tony reportedly said it started when his daughter was nine years old.
However, the girl gave a different account, telling investigators that her father had repeatedly abused her since she was nine.
According to the girl, the alleged incidents occurred at their home, while she could not explain where her mother was whenever they happened.
She also told investigators that her father did not give her money or any other item in exchange for keeping the alleged abuse secret.
When asked how many times the alleged abuse had occurred, the girl reportedly said she could not count the number of times.
The conflicting accounts between the suspect and his daughter have raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
The case is currently under investigation as authorities work to establish the facts and determine the appropriate legal action.
