“I Spend Up to $300,000 Monthly in Nigeria” — Davido Opens Up on His Lifestyle

Written by Mary Bassey

Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that his monthly personal expenses in Nigeria can range between $200,000 and $300,000, noting that the figure does not include several major costs such as his wife’s expenses, household maintenance, luxury vehicles and jewellery.

The award-winning singer made the disclosure during a live conversation on Davrel’s Twitch stream on Tuesday while discussing the differences between his lifestyle in Nigeria and the United States.

According to Davido, his spending is significantly lower when he is in the US because his immediate household consists mainly of himself, his wife and their children. In contrast, living in Nigeria comes with far greater financial responsibilities due to the larger number of people who rely on him and the broader demands of maintaining his lifestyle.

The singer explained that beyond his personal needs, he also caters to the welfare of staff, extended family members and other dependents, which contributes to his high monthly expenses in Nigeria.

Davido’s comments have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans expressing surprise at the amount he says he spends each month, while others argued that the cost reflects the realities of his celebrity status and extensive responsibilities.
