Erling Haaland reached another remarkable milestone on Saturday as his goal secured Manchester City a narrow 1-0 victory over Coventry City in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker scored in the 26th minute at the Etihad Stadium, heading home from an Antoine Semenyo cross to give City the only goal of the game.
The strike was Haaland’s 300th club career goal, adding another major achievement to the 26-year-old’s already impressive record.
Haaland’s landmark tally includes goals scored during spells with Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City. His latest strike was also his third Premier League goal of the new season.
The forward later celebrated the achievement on X as he marked the latest milestone in a career that has seen him maintain an extraordinary scoring rate.
City, however, had to work hard for the three points as Coventry, who are back in the Premier League, remained competitive and threatened to find an equaliser late in the game.
The victory means Manchester City have won all three of their league matches so far, giving manager Enzo Maresca a perfect start to the campaign with nine points from a possible nine.
The match also marked an impressive Manchester City debut for Enzo Fernández, who played a key role in the build-up to Haaland’s historic goal. Fernández joined City from Chelsea for a British-record-equalling £125 million fee.
Haaland’s latest milestone further underlines his status as one of the most prolific goalscorers in modern football.
