Motorists travelling along the Kaduna-Zaria axis of the A2 Highway should expect a temporary traffic diversion on Sunday, September 6, 2026, following an advisory by the Federal Road Safety Corps.
The FRSC said the diversion will take place at DK825, Kwaranza Village, where the highway intersects with the Kaduna-Kano Rail Line.
According to the Corps, the temporary traffic arrangement will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The FRSC explained that the diversion is necessary to allow the inspection of railway bridge beams being carried out as part of the Kaduna-Kano Rail Modernisation Project.
The affected section is on the Kaduna-Zaria-Kano A2 Highway, a major route connecting motorists travelling between Kaduna, Zaria and Kano.
The Corps advised motorists using the route during the affected period to plan their journeys accordingly, exercise caution and comply with traffic management personnel at the diversion point.
The temporary arrangement is expected to be lifted after the scheduled inspection is completed.
