Abasiofiok Akpabio Pays an Official Visit to the Cross River State Ministry of Education

 

Dr. Abasiofiok Akpabio, Special Assistant on Students Advocacy to the Governor of Cross River State, had a meeting with Honorable Commissioner of Education, Dustinguished Senator Stephen Odey, Permanent Secretary, Directors, All Nigeria Confederatiin of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), other officials and stakeholders of the Ministry of Education,

Abasiofiok Akpabio, Special Assistant on Students Advocacy to the Governor of Cross River State, had a meeting with Honorable Commissioner of Education

The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of the Cross River State Students Academic-Thon (CRISSA), an innovative initiative designed to enhance learning outcomes among senior secondary school students in Cross River State.

Key Objectives of CRISSA
1. Improving Educational Standards: Enhance academic performance and educational quality among senior secondary school students.
2. Leadership Development*: Foster leadership skills and abilities in students through structured programs and activities.
3. *Promoting Unity and Collaboration*: Encourage unity and collaboration among students, schools, and stakeholders in the education sector.

The Cross River State Students Academic-Thon (CRISSA) with the theme; “Excelerate: Empowering young minds, Elevating Excellence” will feature a range of activities, including:

1. Inter-School Competitions: Quizzes, debates, and science fairs.
2. Mentorship Programs: Free mentorship programs for participating students.
3. Workshops and Seminars: Hands-on workshops and seminars to develop essential life skills.

Recognition and Rewards
The overall winner of the competition, will be recognized as the “Champion of the State / One day Governor of CRS”, and will receive a tertiary education scholarship. Additionally, there will be rewards for the mentoring teacher and the winning school, as well as consolation prizes for participating students and schools.

The Commissioner of Education, Senator Stephen Odey, expressed his appreciation for the initiative and pledged the support of the Ministry of Education for the successful implementation of CRISSA.
